Ladies’s Ballon d’Or: Ellen White and Fran Kirby on shortlist

Fran Kirby and Ellen White are competing to be the primary English gamers to win a Ballon d’Or since Michael Owen in 2001

England’s Ellen White and Fran Kirby are on the 20-strong shortlist for the 2021 Ladies’s Ballon d’Or award.

Kirby, 28, helped Chelsea to win the Ladies’s Tremendous League – scoring 16 targets in 18 league video games, and being named the PFA and FWA participant of the 12 months.

White, 32, scored 15 targets in 32 video games for Manchester Metropolis final season though they didn’t win a trophy.
